Ben: Magician, Artist, and #Aspie

Autism Unveiled Week 3

Branding, Magic & Autism are the set of words I would like for me, if I should be lucky enough to be included. However, if asked to describe myself, I would say I am a Magician, Artist and Aspie. I prefer Branding, Magic & Autism because Branding tends to pay better than theatrical magic.

The attached portrait is something I commissioned. I paid a tattoo artist named Steve to make this portrait of me. I am embarrassed I am not remembering his last name. The image is used on the back cover of my novel Poker Without Cards.

Why a pirate? Before I knew what an aspie was, let alone that I was one, a couple friends called me an aspie. I had seen myself as a pirate. A pirate in the vernacular of Buckminster Fuller was a generalist, and an anticipatory design scientist. Aspie is easier and more fun, without diminishing my skills. So, these days I am less often using the pirate for Ben Mack. However, I often use the pirate with a fictional character Howard Campbell, a name I appropriated with permission from Kurt Vonnegut, and my most autobiographical character.

This is a video I shot and produced, and it has 2,000,000+ views.
