Fallbrook artist Joel Anderson, “The Artist of Smiles,” has his dog portraits on display at TERI Campus of Life in San Marcos through October 2026.
Last week I had the pleasure to assist Fallbrook artist Joel Anderson in hanging his dog series art outside Teri’s Common Grounds Coffee Shop. Joel is known for his portraitures where he captures the soul of his subject. It’s no different with his portraits of dogs he’s known.
Joel states “I have had a life long love for dogs, especially German Shepherds and Siberian uskies. This art collection features working dogs and is titled ‘Looking Out for Each Other.’ They represent special dogs who look out for each of us in our communitities in their own special way, working together to help people and to make the world a better place.”

With Teri’s easy hanging system the four of us took no time to hang this fun exhibit!

For those who’d like to stop by and maybe grab a cup of coffee and enjoy the beautiful art, the Common Grounds Coffee Shop at 555 Deer Springs Road is open to the public Sunday through Thursday from 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM and on weekends from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM. This coffee shop is a hidden gem with music on the weekends.
