Finding your Inner “MozArt” Art Contest

The Art of Autism and Mainly Mozart nonprofits present an Art Contest with CASH prizes for North American individuals who identify as neurodivergent 14 and over.
As part of this year’s Mainly Mozart’s Mozart & The Mind, Mainly Mozart and the Art of Autism are sponsoring an art contest with cash prizes titled Finding Your Inner “MozArt.”  The goal of this contest is to foster inspiration about the genius we all have within and to promote the activities of Mainly Mozart during Mozart & The Mind (May 30 – June 2, 2019) in beautiful San Diego, California. Mozart & The Mind is the opening event of the month-long Mainly Mozart festival. The chosen works will be displayed at the gala events and activities during Mozart & the Mind.  Your “inner MozArt” can be anything that inspires you. Work submitted can be of any medium. It can be abstract or realistic. Music-themed art will receive priority in judging.
There are three important steps in the process of submissions.

  1. An initial email submission by the artist or their representative of up to 3 works of art. This can be a cell phone shot of the work. The purpose of this step is to collect a wide range of art to choose from for the online exhibit. Please send images that are web ready at 72 dpi.  The Artist will be notified if they are chosen to continue to the next stage. Artists must be willing to sell their original art if their art is chosen as a prize winner.  Please include artist name, title and size in the file name and include an artist statement with your submission. The artist statement is important because stories are as compelling as the art.  Email entries to Debra Muzikar info@artautism.com. Please type Mainly Mozart Submission in the title field of the email. Please send all submissions in ONE email.

Deadline for these initial submissions has been extended to midnight March 15, 2019

  1. From those submissions a number of art works will be selected to progress to the judging phase. These submissions will be displayed on both the Mainly Mozart and Art of Autism websites. Judges from Mainly Mozart and the Art of Autism will select prize winners.
  2. Winning artists will be asked to submit their work for sale at Mozart & The Mind events. Final winning art submissions must be shipped and received by May 15, 2019.  Mainly Mozart will cover shipping of the art.  Artists must price their work for resale. Mainly Mozart and the Art of Autism will receive 50 percent of the sales price and the artist will receive 50 percent.  Art that does not sell will be returned to the artist.  Reproductions may be made for resale. The artist will receive 50 percent for the sale of all reproductions. There will be a contract made between the artist and the Art of Autism regarding the use of the art.
